Story
Hi guys! Thank you for taking the time to visit my page:)
In order to help raise money for the Royal Voluntary Service I will be aiming to run roughly 42km (the length of a marathon) between February 8th and 22nd (2 weeks). I am really not a runner however am wanting to push myself outside of my comfort zone to help such a worthwhile cause. I will be aiming to run 3km every day for 14 consecutive days!
The money raised will go towards costs associated in order to help the most vulnerable people during these uncertain times. This charity puts at risk people in touch with volunteers, who assist with a variety of tasks, including; collecting shopping and medications and also frequently calling those most at risk of loneliness.
If you are unable to donate as I understand times are hard for everyone, I would appreciate if you could share my page instead:) Or, if you are interested in becoming a volunteer simply search 'NHS Volunteer Responder'.
More about the charity: The funds raised from the Step Up! challenge will help us to continue supporting at-risk older people at this time of crisis across Britain. Coronavirus means thousands of older and vulnerable people are facing months of self-isolation. For those who live on their own, this is a frightening prospect. With no one to collect their food or prescriptions, and no one to talk to them and calm their fears many older people are wondering how they will cope. With your help we can give older and vulnerable people the support they desperately need to get through this extremely difficult time.
