Many of you might be wondering WHY?? Why run 26.2 miles? What makes a person so determined to hit the road one day of the year and run until they have nothing more to give. My answer: My MOM!!

This year I'm running for the Breast Cancer Care Group and I am running in memory of my mother who battled breast cancer for 13 years and lost that battle in 1999 at the young age of 43. I was 19 years old when i said my final goodbyes to my mom in the hospital. She always said that she would stay long enough to know that my sister and I would be ok. She wanted to make sure that we lived the lives we always dreamed of. And do you know what...I am. And i couldn't have done it without her confidence and strength that she instilled in me in those quick 19 years. I am the Woman I am today because of HER!!!

So here I am asking you to reach into your pockets and donate to the Breast Cancer Care Group so that no other little girl needs to lose her mother because of breast cancer. Donate so that those women who are battling this disease courageously have the support they need to make it through each and every day. You and I can and will make a difference.
