Story
The County Durham & Darlington Cancer Patients and Carers Group is a group of patients, carers and health professionals that aim to ‘make a difference to cancer services’. Every two years we carry out ‘Sensory Surveys’ in the chemotherapy units at Durham, Darlington, Bishop Auckland and Shotley Bridge hospitals. We use our senses (what we see, hear and smell etc.) to look at the units from a user perspective, identifying positive aspects and giving suggestions that could improve the experience of patients and carers. Because of this work, a new unit is being built at University Hospital of North Durham but they need more funding. We are hoping that with the generosity of friends and family we can raise a lot of money for the CHEMORE Appeal.
