Story
'100 strikes against cancer' invites local small or independent businesses to support Edward Simpson in raising £100 k for Brain Tumour Research.
We are inviting you to donate £100. Can we find 100 supporters?
100 companies.............£100.............100 strikes against cancer.
12 year old Edward launched the '100 strikes against cancer' fundraising campaign following his year of surgery, radio and chemotherapy for a highly aggressive brain cancer.
Brain cancers are the biggest cancer killers of children and adults under 40, yet historically, only 1 % of national cancer spend has been on this devastating group of diseases. This group of cancers is so under-funded that large amounts of money are required if we are to improve the treatments on offer and help those who will face this diagnosis in the future.
Ed is working his way through 100 strikes. Through this challenge, he will take 100 penalty kicks at 100 different locations, sometimes with jumpers for goal posts, sometimes at major Football Clubs, this is no mean feat for a boy who has had to relearn how to walk and kick a ball. He is being supported along this journey by local children and football clubs. Will you help too?
Our challenge is to the small and/or independent businesses of the Cotswolds. We are looking for 100 businesses to donate £100 (or more if you are able!). Your donation will appear on this page. We can also feature you on our social media platforms (we like to shout a thank you to all supporters!) if of interest? Just ping us a message on Insta, Twitter or Facebook and let us know!
Full information on Edward's story can be found on his fundraiser movie (kindly produced by the Barn Theatre at:
