Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We're raising money to support Muscular Dystrophy UK by doing the Cambridge Town and Gown 10km on Sunday 22 October.
Jim is aiming to complete the race in under 43 minutes (for the first time in more years than he'd like to admit); Katell is hoping to complete the course in under an hour; while Kiran is aiming to beat her Greater Cambridge 10K time (which was good enough for 1st place in her category!) from last month (56m35s).
Why are we raising money? More than 70,000 people in the UK alone have Muscular Dystrophy or a related condition. It's a genetic disease that gets worse over time, causing severe disability and becomes life threatening when the heart or muscles used for breathing are affected.
Muscular Dystrophy UK support research to find effective treatments and cures for all muscle-wasting conditions. They help families get faster access to new treatments, and also ensure that everyone has the specialist care and support they need to live as independently as possible.
Which sounds like a great cause to us! Please help us reach our target.
