Story
Welcome and thank you for visiting my Just Giving page for the New York Marathon that will take place 04 November 2018!
Every couple of years I unwisely decide that half-marathons are not enough and decide to tackle a full marathon. So this will be my third one since running my first marathon in London, in 2010.
This time I have decided to run for Cure Leukaemia (a charity supported by my current employer), whose important work in this field helps to keep pushing the 5-year survival rate upwards. I have personally witnessed in recent years how progress in this field has given a second chance to ones we love.
Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.
So thank you in advance for sponsoring me in this challenge and for supporting Cure Leukaemia. I will keep you posted on how it goes in November!
