SafeLives is a national charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse, for good. No one should live in fear. It is not acceptable, not inevitable, and together – we can make it stop.Every year, nearly two million people experience domestic abuse. For every person being abused, there is someone else responsible for that abuse: the perpetrator. And all too often, children are in the home and living with the impact.Domestic abuse affects us all; it thrives on being hidden behind closed doors. We must make it everybody’s business.
I am participating in the Cascais Ironman 70.3 in September. This consists of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run (half marathon).
I am doing this for Safelives because Every year, nearly two million people experience domestic abuse in the UK. It thrives on being hidden and behind closed doors. We must make it everybody’s business. No one should live in fear. It is not acceptable, not inevitable, and with your support - we can make it stop.
Because of amazing sponsors like you we were able to help more than 60,000 victims of domestic abuse, and nearly 80,000 children last year. Together we can change lives and make sure that no family has to deal with domestic abuse alone.
As some of you may know I have previously run 2 marathons for Safelives, last year raising almost £3000!
As this challenge is much harder I’m setting myself a target of £4000.
