We hope you are all healthy and well! 

We are all facing many daily challenges as we navigate through the impact of COVID-19.  Our routines have been interrupted and our lives have taken on a different meaning. Imagine the challenges that families in need are facing. Families whose daily lives are more than just interrupted, but whose lives have been turned upside down, families who are trying to just get by minute by minute, not just day by day. Families whose struggles before COVID-19 were great and whose struggles have become even more pronounced now and will become more so in the days ahead.

A Precious Child is a local nonprofit that provides opportunities and resources to children and families in the most need and has been designated as an essential organization. Their team is rising to unparalleled challenges. The dedicated staff at A Precious Child, along with more than 9,000 volunteers, have a tremendous challenge ahead.  A Precious Child is on the frontlines, providing emergency hygiene and cleaning kits, diapers, formula and diaper wipes to hundreds of children and their families in need across the Denver Metro community. Once COVID-19 is behind us, the families are facing even more dire circumstances and critical needs as they may have lost or may lose their jobs, their homes and more. A Precious Child is providing critical relief to our most vulnerable community neighbors.

In 2019, A Precious Child provided aid to more than 57,000 children and 7,000 caregivers (parents, grandparents, foster parents and guardians) living below the Colorado Self Sufficiency Standard and many below poverty level.  Before COVID-19, there were more than 180,000 children living in poverty in the State of Colorado. After COVID-19, those numbers may be staggering.

As Board of Directors and Board of Trustees members, we know that the community’s support and commitment power every aspect of A Precious Child’s mission. That is why we are asking you to join us in supporting A Precious Child as they continue their mission in supporting our population most adversely affected by this pandemic. Time is of the essence. They need our support now in order to effectively respond to the growing and critical needs in our community. To families they serve, it is much more than providing an essential item, it’s providing hope and stability, something that many of us take for granted in our own day to day lives.

We are excited to report that 15 devoted friends and supporters have rallied together to create an extraordinary fundraising MATCH through June 30, 2020. They are pledging $1 for every $1 donation up to $300,000, generously allowing the gifts each of us makes today, go twice as far.  There is still time for you to make an impact!

Lisa, Alex, Spencer and I have committed $5,000 to the $300,000 match opportunity and are offering to commit an amount up to an additional $5,000 in funds for each dollar contributed by our family and friends.  Together, as a team, we could contribute $15,000. We hope you can join us in this effort! Thank you for your consideration in helping A Precious Child meet their $300,000 match goal and help the children and families who are living in poverty, especially during this turbulent time.
