Story

Hi everyone!

We are a group of First Year Social Care Work Students in CIT who  have organised a virtual fundraising event for Cork Simon called 'Walk a mile in my shoes'.

 'Walk a mile in my shoes' will start on Friday, 4th December and will run until Friday, 18th December.

To take part in this event..

1. Donate a minimum of 5 euro to this fundraising page. All the money donated to this page will go directly to Cork Simon. 'Just Giving' is very secure and Cork Simon have used it for many other fundraising events.

2. Fill a backpack with essential items.

3. Take a video/photo of yourself walking with your back pack.

4. Upload your video/photo to your Facebook page and tag @cithomelessandpovertycampaign and @corksimon with the hashtag #walkamileinmyshoes.

The idea behind this event is to represent how people who are experiencing homelessness have to carry heavy bags of essential items every day and to give people an insight into just one of the many struggles of homelessness.

If you have any queries you can contact either
 @cithomelessandpovertycampaign or @corksimon on Facebook.

Thanks!
