A safe place to live is just the start.

Corbyns Christmas Challenge · 13 December 2019
Jeremy Corbyn said that his first act as prime minister would be to address the severe homelessness crisis that has engulfed the UK as a result of austerity. He may not be in office but we can make sure that we 'get this done'
Winter is the most dangerous time for any homeless person but for younger people it is particularly difficult, often people escaping abuse at home; they find themselves deserted and alone with no support network. Last year 103,000 young people in the age group 16-25 reported themselves either homeless or at severe risk.
Centrepoint gives these people a second chance, first and foremost they give them a home. A house or flat that they will share with one or two other people completely free of charge for up to two years.
In that time, Centrepoint work with them to identify what went wrong and do what they can to help. This means counselling, psychological support, self esteem workshops, training, they build these people up into the best version of themselves and support them through their life choices; whether this be education, work, self employment or apprenticeships.
They even continue to support them for up to six months after leaving the service and maintain contact to ensure they stay on track.
This aftercare is why it's so effective.
Centrepoint has an amazing 89% success rate of getting a young person either into higher education or employment, and teaching them the life skills needed never to return to the streets. This is why we want to raise as much support as possible for these vulnerable young people, to get them back onto their feet and reintegrate them into society.
With winter on it's way and Christmas coming up we want to leave no one out in the cold.
One room for one night costs £12 inclusive of all services.
