Story
I have always had a passion for running from my early teens and to differing degrees throughout my adult life. At the beginning of 2018 I discovered Park Run and this reignited a previous spark and I started running on a more regular basis; more recently joining the Felixstowe I can Run Club and running with some colleagues also. I've definitely got the running bug. :)
Next year is a big birthday for me and I felt the time was right to take up a big challenge and what better that the ultimate running challenge - the London Marathon. I had applied many times over the years but had never been successful
I was almost rendered speechless when I found out I had got a ballot space and I am unbelievably excited about taking part in the greatest race of all time - this excitement has definitely helped me get through some of the early training sessions.
My youngest sister Zoe has Multiple Sclerosis and I have seen first hand the affect it has had on her life and the strength she has shown to battle this awful disease day in day out - so this was always going to be the charity that I felt the most passionate about.
I have used a picture of my amazing sister loving life to the full in my cover picture which just makes my heart sing. It is not the life I imagined for her growing up but it is good to see Zoe making the most of the situation she finds herself in. Over 100,000 people live with MS in the UK and together we can fund research to help beat MS.
If you can support me by making a donation to my challenge, I would be hugely appreciative. I can't promise to be super quick, but for those of you who know me, I will definitely finish.
Thank you.
Karen
