Story
This is my daughter, this is Cora-Joan and for the last 12 months you have possibly seen my social media posts about her. My daughter has a condition that means her own body is attacking all her joins, including her eye sockets. In the last few months she has started care under Sheffield Childrens Hospital who are, in a word, amazing.
The last year, as Coras Daddy, has been so hard watching my little girls mobility deteriorate. The endless worrying about her losing her mobility or her vision has been not only been hard to see, its been incredibly hard to accept. She has already had 3 trips into theatre and started her journey of medicines. This journey is new, it is the first step of the rest of her life but it is also helping her do the things all children her age should be able to do.
I have shared picture after picture of her these last few months, but what I have not shown is the turmoil it has caused, the many many breakdowns after shes gone to bed or the incredible work that a whole team, in one hospital, is doing to help my daughter.
My Dad body obviously shows that I've never really being an active person. However, the work Sheffield Childrens hospital is doing has inspired me to try raise funds so they can continue to selflessly help many more children that need their care.
For this, I am aiming to cycle the distance between John of Groats to Landsends before my daughter's Birthday on the 19th July. Covid obviously means that the actual journey is not feasible so I will be aiming to complete the equalivant miles by cycling weekly to complete the Length of the UK virtual challenge.
I'd absolutely love to raise at least £1 per mile, the total distance is 1084 miles. However, as we all know, times are hard so any donation, no matter how small, can make sure a huge difference.
Thank you, any shares on Social Media would be hugely appreciated
