For the last 5 months, I've abdicated most hopes for a social life in favour of spending all my time either running, or recovering from running. This is in aid of me getting round the marathon course in Tromso on the 18th of June. In a race that starts at 8.30. At night. In Norway. In the Arctic Circle. I've run more than 500 miles in training and ended up with two pairs of the smelliest shoes I've ever possessed. And in little under a week I'll be running for hours in the cold harsh 24 hour daylight of the Arctic, only to end up where I started.
This isn't the first time that I've tried going round in circles for a very long time, but it's certainly the furthest and most consistent effort that I've put into anything for a long time. If you feel that this exercise is thus quite futile, despite the great effort put into it, you might like to mitigate against it by giving some money to charity... Or if not, you might like to salute this effort by donating. Either way, cough up some cash.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
