And we’re done! Thank you so much to everyone who donated – we really have been so humbled by people’s generosity. We will endeavour to get emails out to you all over the next week or two so bear with us.
We were happy with our times: Niamh in 01.48.18 and Conor in 01.33.18. In fact, Conor came 32 overall and Niamh came 33 of all the women – so a pretty even match!
It feels like a really long time since we started training. A lot has happened. Indeed, Jimmy was still with us when we made our first ventures into the freezing morning air in the parks of Teddington and Hackney. But four months to the day before the race, he left us. It was emotional to finish – not just because of all the effort we put in but because it was a project that still connected us directly to Dad. And to finish felt like both an incredible achievement but also another cord cut.
We couldn’t have done this without all of your incredible support. Well, we could have. But it would have been a lot of pain for nothing.
Over three grand for cancer research. We’re pretty bloody happy with that. Thank you all SO much. We’ll be over for tea as soon as our legs start working again.
