Story
From the 23rd - 30th May I'm joining a team of crazy adventurers from Cambridge & District Youth for Christ to try and climb Everest, Mont Blanc and Kilimanjaro from the confines of our own homes!
My personal challenge will be to climb the stairs for the entire duration of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Why, I hear you ask? Youth for Christ is about seeing young people becoming mature disciples. Now, I can't think of anything more influential than helping a young person meet and imitate Jesus. This is no decision made in a moment, but a day-by-day journey. And the truth is that many young people are nowhere near Jesus: they are miles from home. But in this season of isolation and uncertainty I'm more convinced than ever that walking with people on this journey - the highs and lows, the mountain-top moments and the day-to-day plodding - is worth everything. Help us be there: for young people far from home, for youth leaders who feel ill-equipped and lonely, for those who want to grow a culture of discipleship in their churches and don't know where to start!
