Story
I signed up to do the Great North Run in March (some of you might have seen me stumbling around the roads training), 2 days later I got an email from Bowel Cancer UK regarding raising money in sponsorship. This seemed like a sign, maybe my way to help others?
In 2021 a few weeks after Eddie was born we found out I had stage 3 bowel cancer. I had no major symptoms just thought better safe than sorry… catching it before it progressed to stage 4 means that 2 years later I’m one of the lucky ones still to be here. I hope to raise as much money as possible as my way of helping to support others going through the bowel cancer journey.
There has been a lot of publicity about bowel cancer over the past 18 months or so (read below and it’s obvious why), I hope this page will make even 1 more person become aware of it….If caught early this disease is treatable.

Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with over 16,000 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable.
Every 15 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with bowel cancer, 2500 people under 50 are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year
The money you donate will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, enable them to fund and support research into bowel cancer and to campaign for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.
