Connells Group Ryder Cup On 7th April 2022 The Connells Group is organising a Ryder Cup style Golf Tournament to be played at the ‘Home of England Golf’ and one of the top courses in the world, Woodhall Spa. This will be the biggest grudge match of the year, with Group North taking on Group South in a 12 person team (6 pairs each) event, captained by Group National Operations Directors Giles Hart and Ian Fry, who are tasked in picking their teams for battle. The objective for this sporting event is to raise awareness about mental health in both the local area and nationally and to raise vital funds for corporate charity partners, Mind; who have been pivotal in supporting people, especially through the last two years of the pandemic. Mind is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales; and they believe that no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. 2020 and 2021 were years of anxiety and uncertainty for many of us, and more people have needed Mind than ever before. By supporting Mind, we are helping them on their mission to get support and respect for everyone experiencing a mental health problem, and to ensure they are there for those who need them. “Mind for me, is a charity close to my heart, with my wife’s work colleagues and family finding great use of their support whilst working on the Covid Intensive Care front line during the pandemic. We have already had some generous support towards the event from business partners, local businesses and elite athletes – it should prove to be a fantastic day for all involved.” The event will take place over 36 holes with foursomes in the morning on the Bracken Course, followed by lunch, and concluded with Four-Balls in the afternoon on the World Famous Hotchkin Course. |
