Story
I always try and take on a personal fundraising challenge each year for the Rangers Charity Foundation and this year is no different. I don't always make it easy for myself when coming up with a challenge, and once again...this year is no different!
With the fine support of the Royal Navy and Army, I will be walking the length of the Great Glen Way from Fort William to Inverness in one continuous journey (79 miles) over two days in June with a loaded Army Bergen on my back. The funds raised from my challenge will be in support of the Foundation's special Armed Forces Partnership which this year is aiming to raise £25,000 in support for four forces/veterans related charities: Erskine (£10,000); Combat Stress (£5,000); Poppyscotland (£5,000) and The Rifles Regimental Trust's Care for Casualties appeal.
I've been training hard in the gym since November to build up my core strength and now planning a variety of long training walks to harden up my feet and toughen up my legs for the pounding they are going to get in June! Any support you can give would be tremendously appreciated and if you'd like to join me on my final training walk on Sunday 28 May from Bearsden to Drymen (12 miles or join me for the return too - 24 miles) get in touch!
Thanks for your support!
