Story
Hi all
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm sure the majority of you will know why we're doing this, but for those that don't....here goes.
Katie Compson was 33 when she passed away from cervical cancer in November 2011. She was the bravest, most beautiful and intelligent person that any of us have ever known and we miss her every second of every day. We struggle through every day knowing that we're not going to hear THAT laugh, and see THAT smile again.
Last year we did as Katie had requested - dressed up in pink, grabbed a bunch of amazing family, friends and supporters and walked 14 miles thinking of the impact she made with every step. We thought it only right that we do it again this year and try to make another mass amount of cash.
We raised over £25,000 for the Royal Marsden hospitals last year. It was to raise money to help both hospitals continue their incredible work on a daily basis, ultimately praying that fewer people have to suffer through this horrendous illness.
During the 18 months that Katie was ill, she spent a considerable amount of time in the Royal Marsden hospitals receiving incredible treatment. They were amazing in their care towards her and other patients, using chemo and radiotherapy, drug trials, and good old fashioned laughter to try their best to help her. Even though, in the end, the cancer was too aggressive for her body to beat, she always felt in the safest hands whilst there and believed that there was nowhere better to be treated.
We would greatly appreciate any donation that you can spare - it is a fantastic cause.
With much love
The Compson Crew
