Story
In 2019 Harmonie decided that she wanted to join her schools mission to fundraise £20,000 for a more accessible playground, a cause that is extremely important to her. Combe Down Primary is a fantastic school, built in the centre of an old mining village, and whilst this provides a wonderful setting for the school, it also brings with it many difficulties in making the site work for all. Therefore the dream of an inclusive, improved, inspiring and safe playground was born.
Sadly the events and plans for 2020 to bring this dream a reality had to be put on the hold.
Now the excitement is building as one of the events that harmonie had originally planned to participate in has been rescheduled for the 2nd May 2021!
Harmonie will be attempting to run, on her blades 500 meters through a colourburst running event! Whilst getting covered in paint will be fun, the running on her blades will be the challenge. This has been a skill she has been mastering throughout lockdown.
Coincidentally, the weekend of Harmonies colour run, is the same weekend as the CaptainTom100!!! Being the enthusiast she is, she has decided that she will turn that weekend into a fundraising extravaganza for her school! Not only attempting the 500 meter colour run but also Joining #CaptainTom100 she will be attempting to climb a rock climbing wall 100 times!!!! Having the same beliefs as captain Tom, Harmonie wanted to live on his legacy by joining the #CaptainTom100 and highlighting the importance of charitable work and giving hope.
Rock climbing is a challenge in itself for any able bodied person, as a quadruple amputee climbing a rock climbing wall 100 times is going to be quite extraordinary.
But Harmonie was made for the challenge!
If you can please donate towards Harmonie’s chosen cause.
