Colne Valley Cats Protection is exceptionally busy at present with kittens, on top of our usual cat work.

Our volunteers don’t mind the extra work and our volunteer fosterers give these kittens the love and care they need.

Unfortunately, we have had our hearts broken by 5 kittens that came into our care in a horrific condition. The kittens were very malnourished; some were too weak to hold their heads up. They had severe flu, were unable to open their eyes due to severe inflammation and were struggling to breathe because they were so congested. Two of the kittens were in a critical state due to not eating or drinking but with veterinary care, they are improving and we hope they will all recover and get well soon.

To give the kittens the best chance of survival our vet has advised to treat them with an anti-viral drug which is very costly, as well as the antibiotics, pain relief, eye drops and fluids they are already on.  We are expecting the vet bill for the kittens to run into hundreds of pounds. We have set up this just giving page to help pay for the cost of the treatment, so please give generously.  In the case of too much money being raised, any balance remaining will go to help other unwanted cats and kittens in our care.
