Story
I am running 26.2 miles in the 2023 TCS London Marathon to support the MS Society.MS is an unpredictable and incurable condition that affects people's nervous systems. It can attack suddenly or progress steadily, bringing a range of symptoms which can include sight loss, incontinence, fatigue and mobility problems.
The MS Society fund vital research into the causes of MS and possible treatments. They provide a helpline service, answering the calls of those looking for advice and support. They believe that together, we are strong enough to stop MS.
In March 2020, my fiancé then and wife now got rocked with the news that she had MS. She was diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS which means that her immune system can mistakenly attacking her brain and her nerves any time. From this Laura has received support from the MS Society on her diagnosis.
3 years on, 3 hospitals later, 3 different schools, 4 relocations, planned a wedding (twice), completed her masters and give birth the most beautiful little boy it’s fair to say the last few years have been hectic. All the while dealing with pins and needles in her hands and feet, headaches,, bouts of fatigue and having to put with me.
My reason for running the marathon is simple. To support a charity that has done so much for us as family and an opportunity to give back. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and thanks so much for taking the time to even read about what the MS Society provide.
