On the 21st November 2017 one of the most funny, caring and absolutely bonkers people in the world, grew her forever wings. My cousin Rachael has left a huge hole in our family's life. It was the biggest shock and it still is hard to get my head around it. She was the life and soul of any party with an incredibly infectious smile. If Rach turned up to your party you knew you'd be in it for the long haul! She never did things by halves but was always there if you needed her. I miss her terribly as does everyone that had been blessed with her company. 

So I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and challenge my mind and body in honour of my wonderful cousin. She would have thought I was mad for entering this "rather you than me cuz" I'd expect her to say, but since I started training keeping her in mind is giving me the push I need. 

I'm not a runner and I want to give up after a mile every time I run! I've never run any great length before and I'm pretty sure a half a marathon will break my body but I'm willing to give it my all.

My cousin was a total people person and loved kids, and they loved her! Unique Kidz Co was the charity picked to donate to at her funeral so I would like to run in honour of her but raise money for her chosen charity.

Unique Kidz and Co was founded in 2009 by two mums who were unable to find suitable childcare for their own disabled children. Opening in July 2009, the first holiday club was attended by over 65 children. Fast forward 10 years and the charity now runs from it's own building in Morecambe and has extended it's services to include afterschool and holiday clubs for disabled children aged 5-19, daytime support for disabled young adults aged 16-25, stay and play sessions for children under 5 and a siblings group for children aged 8. In 2019, Unique Kidz and Co will celebrate a huge milestone - it's 10th birthday!
