Story
This year I will be taking on the 1 mile Great North Swim in Lake Windermere and also the SwimRun which consists of swimming and running around Lake Windermere. During a SwimRun you have to carry al equipment with you at all times so you swim in your trainers and run in your wetsuit. This will be my first so I am excited but also nervous.
I will also be taking on the Great North Run Half Marathon once again and as always will be trying to beat by PBs. I will train hard for this and be a role model for Ewan who needs to exercise to keep his lungs the healthiest he can.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing. Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all. Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
The CF Trust has already funded some really important research into Life Saving medication and continues to do until everyone is helped and a cure is found. They also continue to support all families and people with CF to provide help and support where needed so people can live the best life they can.
