To commemorate our 80th anniversary, we are launching a year-long campaign of challenges and events. It is our wonderful community who help make a real difference for people living with arthritis across the UK. Thank you for taking part.

Story

My name is Colleen, I am 60 years old and have been suffering with pain in my hips since I was 30. I have now been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in both of my hips which I need to have regular steroid injections to manage my pain and improve my mobility.

Around 5 months ago I decided to join a gym to get fitter and strengthen my muscles to help support my hip joints, helping me live my life with less pain and delay the need for a hip replacement. I want to raise money for Arthritis Action so they can continue their hard work helping others who suffer with the condition, so that they can get the support and equipment they need to live a less restricted life and as pain free as possible.

To do this, I am taking part in a 5k inflatable running course. I am being trained and supported by my gym, RS Fitness Studios Mansfield, and to support me further other gym members will also be taking part in the run along with my Daughter and 9 year old Granddaughter.
