Story
This Fall I am going to be a Jesuit Volunteer (JV) at NJ LEEP (New Jersey Law and Education Empowerment Program) in Newark, New Jersey! I am very excited about this opportunity, and although it saddens me to leave the West Coast behind, I am looking forward to learning about life on the East Coast!
About JVC...
JVC is a nonprofit that has been pioneering the service landscape for over 60 years, and it is the world's largest, Catholic, full-time volunteer program. As a Jesuit Volunteer, I will be committing myself to a life of service while actively serving those who need it most. I will live in a community house with other volunteers, and we will work together throughout the year to grow in and embody JVC's four core values: justice, spirituality, simple living, and community,
About NJ LEEP...
NJ LEEP is a fantastic organization that supports and empowers first generation and low income middle school, high school, and college students. I will be working in the classroom (virtually or in person) of NJ LEEP's Law-Related after school program. I am absolutely thrilled about this opportunity because I believe in the transformative impacts of education, and I believe that equitable access to education is a right.
Thank you so much for taking some time to learn more about JVC! Please reach out to me if you have any questions or want to know more about JVC! I cannot wait for my journey to begin!
