The community near Southend Airport deserve a decent place to gather, celebrate. Saint Stephen's, with partners, provide much needed support for this local community, elderly and isolated people, youth and children, including Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, debt advice and other support as well as social events, making it a centre of activity. However, the buildings and outdoor play-space are past their best, it is uneconomic to repair them. Our vision is to build new community and church facilities, revitalise the playground and reinvigorate a strong sense of community.

We have an exciting project and need to raise £50,000 to get Planning Permission and from there raise the necessary funding to make this a reality.

As part of the 1000 x 1000s campaign my challenge is to cycle 1000 miles. My route will be around nearly all of the cathedrals in the South and Midlands of England.The challenge will take about 10 days in the summer with a couple of rest days. I will publish more details of the itinerary shortly.

This is the first step, following years of disappointments, to achieving this much needed facility. Please support me and the whole community, thank you.
