Took part in 13.1K Kilomathon on Sunday 1 April and completed course in 1 hour 34 minutes. Really pleased with time and felt good at the end. Great work out for Edinburgh Half Marathon in 8 weeks time.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Around 18 months ago my Dad, Robert was diagnosed with the early stages of Dementia. The symptoms have gradually got worse since then and for someone who was always active throughout his life it is hard for Dad to take and very sad to see. My Mum, Joan is a strong woman and does a brilliant job in caring for Dad but there is only so much anyone can do on their own. Our family are very close and help as much as we can but we need support from others to up the profile of the illness and raise funds to enable a cure to be found as soon as possible. I am not an athlete and wouldn't ever pretend to be. I also do not particularly enjoy running but I am so motivated and determined to help my Dad in any way I can and that is why I am running in the 2012 Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 27 May. It is ironic that the course runs very close to my Mum & Dad's house and also passes the flat where Blair & I live in Musselburgh. So the territory is very familiar to me and no doubt some of my friends will be out supporting me on the day somewhere along the route. I am asking all those that know me (and even those that don't) to pledge their support for this cause.
