Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As an ex serviceman of 25 years and an Army Veteran, I am cycling 500 miles from Vietnam to Cambodia with the aim of raising £4000.00 for the Blind Veteran's UK Charity, (formally St Dunstan's).
The total amount of monies raised is solely for the charity as I am funding this challenge myself.
Blind Veteran's UK believe every Blind Veteran should be able to life the life they choose. They provide rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support. Allowing any Blind Veteran to discover a life beyond sight loss.
The photo is taken in front of the Victory Over Blindness Statute at the Blind Veterans center in Llandudno. In the photo with myself is the Legend that is Billy Baxter whom I served with back in the day. Unfortunately Billy lost his sight whilst serving with the 1st Royal Horse Artillery on active duty in Bosnia in 1997.
I had the pleasure to be shown round he center by Billy and what a great job they are able to do to offer rest bite and courses to all veterans who have who lost their sight or have impaired vision.
My company will match any donations up to £1500, so I am looking for any one who has not yet put their hands in their pocket to push this total for this worthy cause.
Given the current climate we live in and the cost of living crisis any penny or pound you can give will help this charity to provide the support for Blind Veteran's and my friend and Veteran Billy.
I thank one and all who donate from the bottom of my heart.
