We care for our patients and their families to provide the individual support they need
Story
Hello J
4 years ago on Wednesday 28 May 2008 I lost my father, Derek, to cancer. He battled it for over 3 ½ years after he was diagnosed following a family holiday to Canada in 2005.Since then I have been thinking about what can I do to help those are going through the same as we went through.I constantly saw Tesco’s annual Race for Life adverts but it is a Women’s only event!! And then I heard about St Ann’s Hospice Manchester Midnight Walk.
The walk itself is a 10km walk around Manchester City Centre taking in places such as Coronation Street and also many of MMU’s campuses. This year’s walk takes place on Saturday 16 June 2012 and I’m going to be one of the walkers this year.
Who are St Ann’s Hospice?

St Ann’s Hospice provides the care free of charge and therefore has to raise £16,000 every day so their specialised staff can provide the highest quality care.Over 92p in every £1 raised is spent on patient care and the services that support it.
