Story

Colin Gibbons and Ivan Henry of 1st Chard Wheelers, are setting out on their Lands End to John O'Groats ride on April 28th ....

We have been best mates since we were lads, but only started cycling together about seven years ago. Now we are both 42 years old, we decided we needed a big challenge before we hit later life. So, rather than ride the 874 miles of the End to End in the normal 10-14 days, we plan to do it just six days.

We know that riding for 8-10 hours each day will take us to our limits of endurance, but we will do what best mates are best at, supporting each other through the tough times - being a team.

So, we decided to use our ride to help Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, who use teamwork and dedication to save the lives of people like us, every day. Did you know that every time their helicoptor lifts off, that it costs £3000?
