Story
Hello all - so I'm doing the Ride100 to raise money for War Child. But knowing what a lot of you are like, just asking for money to do this wouldn't cut the mustard. I know that I'm really going to have to demonstrate that I'm really going to suffer to get any cash out of you. So I am going to do it. On a fat bike. What's a fat bike? Well, they're designed to operate on snow. They have 5 inch wide tyres. There probably isn't a bike less suited to doing 100 miles on tarmac. I'm going to suffer, I'm going to hurt, I'm probably going to cry. So, you sadistic sods, do give generously!
And, incidentally, its for a great cause. War Child is striving for a world in which no child's life torn is torn apart by war, War Child protects, educates and stands up for the rights of children caught up in conflict. War Child aims to reach them as early as possible when conflict breaks out, and stay to support them through their recover - helping them to keep safe, give them an education, and equip them with skills for the future. They understand children's needs, respect their rights, and put them at the centre of the solution - from supporting Syrian children to access education, to reintegrating child soldiers in the Central African Republic and promoting justice for you people in detention in Afghanistan.
