Story
This Sunday (29th September) I will be running
the Nottingham half marathon in aid of Cancer Research with my mate, Andrew Mills. Millsey and I are running in memory of our friend Michael Smith who we both worked with for over 20 years and who died from cancer earlier this year, at the all too tender age of 55. Michael was a brilliant, kind and caring man and we miss him so we wanted to do something in his memory. You will probably be aware of the work that cancer research does to try to develop cures for various cancers and cancer in general, and we thought this would be a fitting tribute for Michael. So I’m running to raise funds for this great cause. Millsey is running to raise funds for the Beaumond House hospice who provided fantastic care for Michael and his family. Millsey’s JustGiving site is https://www.justgiving.com/teams/Mills-Rutter-2019
We’re really not fussy about which you choose to support so please donate as you feel appropriate.
I have not run any serious distances for over 20 years and
have done nowhere near enough training to achieve this, but I hope to finish in a time of sub-2 hours. This, I appreciate, is more in hope than expectation! More importantly I hope to finish ahead of Millsey otherwise he’ll never stop gloating.
Anyway, if you have a few spare pounds then we would really appreciate your support in helping to raise some much needed funds for either of these fantastic causes.
Many thanks in anticipation.
Colin
