Late one night many years ago, I stopped at a Service Station in Oxfordshire. Getting back in my car, a Scouse bloke emerged from the darkness and asked for a lift. He had been selling tea-towels door-to-door. Dropping him off at Hilton Park Services I asked "Why here?"  He said: "It's where I live - the air con vents at the back are the warmest place for miles"
