Story
At first when anyone hears the word ‘cancer’ alarm bells go off. But I’m one of the lucky ones. A friend of mine was diagnosed around 17 years ago, and he told me to have a Prostate-Specific Antigen blood test (PSA), every year over the age of 50. I did that for eight years before I was diagnosed. As a result, I have caught it very early and have no symptoms, no pain and no treatment required, thankfully. It’s men who take no action and don’t know anything about their
prostate health that sadly are at the greatest risk.
I want to raise as much awareness and funds for PROSTATE CANCER UK as I can, because every pound raised will go towards helping ground-breaking research, testing and treatments. Men are way behind women in the cancer landscape: women are invited for breast and cervical cancer screenings, men are NOT. Help us achieve a national screening program for men that can be a game-changer. Due to the genetic links, this is a disease that can affect so many people and not just those diagnosed. If we catch it early, as I have, we can save grandads, brothers, sons, uncles, partners and friends.
Currently 12,000 men a year are dying unnecessarily - 10,000
men a year are diagnosed too late for a cure, all largely through lack of awareness. That’s why I am so keen to use my voice to spread the word and I can’t wait to join March for Men in July at Battersea Park, London, to honour those who have passed away and help to raise more awareness, more funds and save more lives. Please help
me to help PROSTATE CANCER UK, together we can make a massive difference.
A heartfelt THANK YOU for any amount you can give🙏🏽☺️✖️
