Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My recent story, wow, it has been a rocky road!
19th June 2020 I collapsed and was admitted to
hospital via A&E for what turned out to be a seven week stay. The 1st
3 weeks are a complete blank for me, but I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
with complications.
I started R-Chop chemo treatment, and there were some horrendous
side effects.
I had 3 more stays in hospital due to infections, about 21
weeks in all.
BUT the good news is that I am here to tell the tale. A huge
thank you to the NHS. All of my treatment happened largely without interruption
through the worst of the Covid pandemic.
I would also like to say a big thank you to family, friends
and colleagues that gave me incredible support during those tough times. The
hardest part of the hospital stays was the fact that there was total lockdown,
I was in an isolation room and no visitors. The messages of support and the phone
calls were a massive boost.
And now I am running again, which is why I have setup this
Just Giving page. I am looking to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Without people
like them me and many other people would not be here.
On 12th September 2021 I am going to shuffle
around the Great North Run in Newcastle.
Any donation you can afford would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you one and all.
