On 22 May 2022, I'll be taking part in the Great West Run, in aid of Hospiscare. This means training hard, putting my best foot forward and taking steps to make a difference. Quite literally. Hospiscare is a local charity, caring for terminally ill patients and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Their teams of doctors and nurses offer specialist palliative care, to ensure that patients can make the most of the time they have left. Hospiscare are a vital part of the local healthcare system, though sadly, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on their finances. I know the past couple of years have been challenging for everyone, but I want to help ensure Hospiscare can continue to be there for the community now and in the future.
