Story
Every year, the Winterton Iron Supporters Club raise money for a nominated charity or worthy cause, and this year their chosen charity is Macmillan Cancer Support.
On Saturday 16th October, as part of this year’s fundraising efforts, Winterton Iron members Colin Andrew and daughter Lizzy will once more be walking the 20 miles from Barton-on-Humber through to Scunthorpe United’s Sands Venue Stadium, to arrive in time for kick off against Forest Green Rovers. John Andrew and fellow WI members will join the walk at Winterton.
Winterton Iron are dedicating the walk in memory of Pete Cleary, who sadly passed away recently; Pete and his wife Lizzie received loving care and assistance from Macmillan Cancer Support. Pete was a dear and respected friend to many, and as an active and enthusiastic member of the Winterton Iron, he raised hundreds of pounds for charity through his quizzes, which brought pleasure to many. Pete will be sadly missed
