Story
In October 2016 Nicola and Philip were invited to attend the opening of the Sensory Room at Bath RUH by TIP, upon seeing the amazing work the charity has achieved so far Philip wanted to show his support by raising some money himself. After lots of discussions with Nicky and Neil Halford along with John Reynolds, Philip decided to challenge himself by running the Bath Half Marathon. Before he could start his training he would need to lose some weight, so far he has achieved this goal by losing over 3 stone.
Alicia, Nikki, & Nicola showed their support by going with Philip to Westfield TT running group in May 2017, even though none of them are runners. They could barely run down to the training ground for the first couple of weeks. Anna soon joined this random group to show her support to Philip and they started running around Coleford and Cherry Gardens which is a very challenging route even for the fittest of people, they attended runs a couple of times a week with Westfield TT, running around Westfield and Paulton.
The girls were not planning on running the marathon at first but soon found a strange liking to running so decided to take up the challenge by signing up. Nicky Halford & Jim Baron have both been massive supports by going out in the wet and wind to training with the Coleford Crew.
They have been training ever since and give each other the help and support that is needed for this mega challenge. They have all had their own individual struggles with injuries throughout the training and as most of them are first time runners they are very anxious about completing the marathon, so if you could spare a few pounds to help them beat their fundraising goal that would be great.
TIP have also agreed to make a donation on Nikki's behalf to NICU which is very generous of them.
Thanks lot
Philip, Alicia, Nikki, Anna & Nicola
