Story
After a light-hearted agreement that a 100K walk was an excellent idea, we have been completing mini walks and now understand that this was indeed more of a challenge than we realised!
We are undertaking a 100k walk over two days, camping overnight and hoping that we will all still be friends at the end (hopefully as many of us are related!). To break this down into miles, it is 33 miles on the first day and 29 miles on the second day.
Our team name comes from many planned walks leading to missed meals due to our eternal optimism re timings. We are all hoping to complete this walk to time and be back in time for a big feast!
I am part of the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) lifeboat crew and feel that fundraising is an important part of being a volunteer - to raise awareness of the voluntary emergency service and to help fund our PPE needs, maintain our boats, vehicles and equipment, and to fund essential training. We are an independent lifeboat, which relies on public donations. This is why our team is fundraising for this charity, thanking you for your support and donations, and hoping that we all make the finish line with the majority of our feet intact! More information re SARA can be found on this webpage.
