We (Gary and Hannah) are hosting this event as a way to fundraise for Climbing Out, as well as raise awareness for the charity.

Climbing Out manages to change your mindset and help you build strategies to cope with everyday life following a life-changing illness, injury or trauma. Hannah participated in a 5-day programme in April 2022, then Gary attended programmes both July and September in this same year. Since attending the programmes, our lives have changed significantly in such a positive way and we can't thank Climbing Out enough. Kelda, Paul, Jason, Conor, Gav and Jason each helped us in different ways and now there is no going back from what we have learnt! We have become ambassadors for the charity and hope to help more and more people attend the programmes and get the support that they need.

The match is 11-a-side on 28th May 2023 with a 2pm kick off at New Saints FC in Shropshire. We are creating a team of players with a connection to Climbing Out and will be playing against the Welsh Veterans over 40s Team. Total Rail Solutions (Gary's employer) has generously donated the funds to host the event, so that all proceeds can go directly to Climbing Out. After the football match there will be an event with entertainment in the function room of the club, celebrating Climbing Out and the people involved, as well as sharing information for those that may benefit.
