Story
One of our most valued partnerships at Coexistence is with Maggie's, which is why we're so happy to be taking part in this year's Culture Crawl to raise money to support their amazing work. We would really like your help.
Maggie’s offers free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends. Built in the grounds of specialist NHS cancer hospitals, their centres are designed by leading architects such as Zaha Hadid, Richard Rogers, Wilkinson Eyre & Norman Foster, to be warm and welcoming, full of light and open space. They are warm and welcoming places where visitors can meet people experiencing the same things as them, find support groups specific to their needs and talk privately to people who understand what they’re going through.
They offer help with financial issues, nutrition, managing stress, relationships, and the side-effects of cancer treatment. Centre visitors are encouraged to talk to our professional staff and are welcome to drop by for a cup of tea, in a place they’ll feel at home.
It costs £2,400 to run a Maggie’s Centre for a day. Maggie’s is a charity funded entirely by the kindness of its supporters, so every pound you help us raise will help them to support more people with cancer.
