Story
Every year, I undertake a challenge to raise money for charity. This year’s challenge is personal, I will be raising money in honour of my incredible grandmother Daniele who was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2017. Seeing the difficult journey she has been on has made me want to help the very worthy cause that is Chai Cancer. A charity that is very close to my heart.
The goal of chai cancer is to provide comprehensive, professional and expert services and support to any member of the Jewish community affected by cancer, this includes patients, their families and friends.
In April 2022 I will fly to Sweden where with the help of a pack of huskies I will attempt to sled through the highlands, Forrests and winter landscapes that are Lapland covering 270km in 5 days and finally arriving in Norway.
This will be a hands-on challenge in conditions I am just not used to. Spending long days trying to balance on a sled while holding onto my husky collages are just the start.
I will also be living just like the Laplanders, carrying with me on my sled my camping bag and cooking equipment where I will have to look after myself and tend to the dogs, all in the treacherous white snow and icy untouched nature with temperatures of - 20 degrees centigrade.
A rigorous training and diet plan will be needed for such a challenge. This is why I am in the middle of my four-month training camp to not only be in the best physical position possible but to also have the correct mental stamina for this expedition.
The goal is to raise as much money as possible for Chai Cancer.
Please do consider donating whatever you can. Your support will be a massive help to a charity like chai as well as give me a huge boost during this training period.
Thank you for your support.
