Story
Starting on Thursday 14th May a team of 5 of us will be cycling from Whitehaven to Tynemouth. With the aid of a support crew our aim is to complete the coast to coast route over 3 days. The route covers a gruelling 137 miles and around 4,500 metres of climbing and descending.
As a team many of us have a close connection to the invaluable research into spinal cord injuries.
Every eight hours someone in the UK finds out that they may never walk again as a result of a spinal cord injury. We want to help organisations like Spinal Research achieve their goal and fight paralysis. Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop reliable treatments for paralysis caused by a broken back or neck.
Spinal Injuries Awareness Day falls during our challenge on Friday 15th May. #SCIAware
Any support is greatly appreciated. We'll be keeping you updated on our progress during our challenge.
Many Thanks
Riders: Adam Cherrett, Adam Edwards, Ashley Powell, Sarah Staples and Sean Taylor
Support: Kari Cartledge, Chris Jones, Mark Roberts, Robert Jones
