Story
So I've join the Team Porthtowan Rainbows to help raise funds organised by my friends in Cornwall, Ali and Martin Erents where their son Joel received support from the Children's Hospice South West.
Children's Hospice South West celebrate their 30th anniversary this year. The same year that local boy Joel Erents would have been celebrating his 13th birthday.
Joel, from Porthtowan, died at Little Harbour hospice in 2019 after battling an incurable brain tumour. His memory lives on in the many
rainbows that bless the Porthtowan skies.
On Saturday 26th June, the weekend of his birthday, Team
Porthtowan Rainbows will be completing a coast to coast from Devoran to Porthtowan.
The challenge for me is to train and get up to speed to complete this half marathon in good time.
2021 is a very special year for Childrens Hospice South West, as they mark 30 years since they were founded by Eddie and Jill Farwell in 1991. Since then, thousands of families with a seriously ill child have been welcomed through the hospice doors as part of their journey, finding a safe haven of care, support and friendship. Lets celebrate this wonderful milestone together, and all that you have helped us achieve! Remember that together, we can continue to create more memories to be cherished for another 30 years.
