Story
Hi there, This page has been setup for 3 of the 6 riders on the coast2coast challenge. Paul Keefe, Brendan Mayoh-Baxter and myself Sam Kimball. Together we make up Team Inspire. The other 3 riders are Team Imagine. Here is my story and why we have chosen this charity
My name is Sam, and i'll be the second rider on the the coast to coast bike ride, fundrasing for my chosen charity " Sarcoma uk". Sarcoma is very rare bone and soft tissue cancer.
The reason this is my chosen charity is my mum was diagnosed almost nine years ago and as result of having the cancer in her knee she's now an amputee. Mum's recovery has been very difficult but she has been mind blowingly determined to get on with her life and try to get back to normality. When me and Ashley came up with this idea to do some fundraising for our chosen charity's we didnt hesitate to start organising and working towards getting fit for this rather large ride across country.
Could i please ask for people to donate towards trying to fight this very aggressive cancer for generations to come. Sarcoma uk would be delighted for anything you can give.
Sarcoma UK is a charity set up to be a source of information, support and research for people that have been diagnosed with Sarcoma. They give advice to the Families of those affected through a variety of ways. Local support groups so Sarcoma patients can talk to each other and carers in a relaxed environment. They can talk through online groups to share experiences and support each other through difficult times. They also carry out ground-breaking research projects to work to defeat Sarcoma. Sarcoma UK relies on donations and fundraising to continue there life changing work and that's why they need our help. So please Donate what you can as this charity has changed my family's life.
To help raise awareness and money for Sarcoma UK myself and a few close friends will be cycling the 160 miles from our home town of Southport all the way across the country to Scarborough. We will be cycling through the counties of Merseyside, Lancashire, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire on our journey. We will be stopping overnight in Harrogate and then carry on to our destination on the second day. The Journey will involve some long steep climbs and will test us to our limits. I am quite new to road cycling having taking it up in July 2014. We are currently training for two events in May 2015, Coast2Coast, and the Chilltern 100, a 110 mile ride in 1 day!
