On July 8th, 2019 I will running across the width of the country, from Hornsea on the east coast to Birkenhead on the west coast - a total distance of 214 miles. The aim is to run approximately 53 miles a day, every day for four consecutive days. That is the equivalent of running 2 marathons every day and over 8 marathons in total. 

We're raising £10,000 on behalf of Birkenhead Sixth Form College in aid of Maggie's Merseyside at Clatterbridge.

Cancer effects everyone, it doesn't discriminate. 1 in 3 people will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime. Cancer mortality on Merseyside and Cheshire is 76% higher than that of the European average. Every year, 300,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK, facing tough questions, exhausting treatment and difficult emotions. These challenges affect not only those with cancer, but their family and friends, too. 

Maggie's is there for anyone and everyone affected by cancer, offering a programme of support that has been shown to strengthen physical and emotional wellbeing. Maggie's Centres provide free practical and emotional support for those living with cancer, and the existing interim facility at Clatterbridge has seen has seen demand for services far outstrip expectations, with 14,000 visitors last year.
