#C2C24 Challenge
Coast to Coast in 24 hours sponsored by NFU Mutual is a challenge being undertaken by 8 friends to raise money and awareness for the “My Name’5 Doddie Foundation” in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
The challenge is the “Lockdown Brainchild” of Jamie Murray and involves all 8 getting from Portpatrick on the West coast of Scotland to Cockburnspath/Cove on the East coast of Scotland in 24 hours, by means of cycling, running, kayaking and walking. This is not a relay, all 8 are going the distance.
Alongside the 8 taking part, there is a mighty team of volunteers -led by Steven Holisz- taking care of logistics and everything else under the sun. Without these guys the challenge would be a whole lot tougher!!
The route encompasses the start and finish points of the Southern Upland Way and parts of the walking route along the way.
The challenge is taking place on the 5th of June 2021, starting at 00:00 hrs, with the aim to finish by 23:59hrs.
Doddie has raised the profile of MND and the fight to find a cure of this horrible disease immeasurably. Our challenge wants to help in that fight.
Our challenge looks like this:-
Stage 1) 90.3 Mile Cycle from Portpatrick to Moffat. 00:00-07:00hrs.
Stage 2) 15.4 Mile Run from Moffat to St Mary's Loch. 08:00-10:30hrs.
Stage 3) 2.35 Mile Kayak from West side to East side of St Mary's Loch. 11:00 -13:00hrs.
Stage 4) 23.4 Miles Cycle from St Mary's Loch to Melrose. 13:30-15:00hrs.

Stage 6) 32.8 Mile Cycle from Lauder to Cockburnspath/Cove 20:30-23:59hrs.
......And last but not least, a quick dip in the Sea to cool off!!!
