Story

*LONDON 2 MAKKAH HAJJ RIDE*

Asalamu’Alaikum, I hope this message finds you in the best of health, wealth & Imaan (Faith). Insha’Allah, I plan to cycle to Hajj, YES! CYCLE 2 HAJJ. This journey will be the biggest, spiritual and psychically demanding challenge I have ever participated in my lifetime, an opportunity like no other. A journey through 14 countries, 52 cities, 55 days of cycling, 5392 Kilometres (3,350 Miles) and an estimation of 6 Million pedals through city to city until we rest our eyes in Makkah. All this can be possible through ‘Muslim Charity’ who do an fantastic job providing help for the needy. I dedicate this’ London2Makkah’ to my beloved late mother Laili Begum (01/01/58- 23/07/10) and want to raise funds for abandoned street children around the world, whom I am most passionate about. More information can be accessed via Muslim charity.

In 2013, I graduated with a BA Hons in Youth & Community Work. Being the eager person I am, I wanted to change the world, I learnt over time that this wasn’t possible to do so, I decided to the change the world around me. I started up a community initiative company called ‘Brawlers Boxing’ which won National and Local Awards for Community Safety / Engagement with young people and the wider community. Alhamdulillah I have worked well with over a 1,000 young people borough wide and many other wonderful individuals. I want to move on and work on a global scale, Insha’Allah The London 2 Hajj Ride will give me a wonderful opportunity to travel around the world and at the same time raise funds for children in need. For the past decade I have been actively working with a wide range of children and young people around the country’s capital. My vision is to inspire a generation of young people to be pro-active and be positive leaders in our communities.

[Quran 22:27] "And proclaim that the people shall observe Hajj pilgrimage. They will come to you walking or riding on various exhausted (means of transportation). They will come from the farthest locations”. By Allah please help reach my target of £10,000 which will help me cover my Hajj Ride and also raise much needed money for children around the world. It was narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah said: ‘Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’” Narrated by al-Bukhari, 5073; Muslim, 993. Please donate whatever you can and get involved in this remarkable journey. Abu Huraira also reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status.”
