This will be my second year taking part in a pedElle cycling challenge and this year we'll be going to Slovenia to cycle  almost 400km over three days..... including through some pretty large hills (almost 6000m of climbing over 3 days which is more than cycling up Mont Blanc!).

SEGRO is one of the event sponsors in 2023 so for every £1 that Team SEGRO raise above our £4000 group target, 50% will be awarded to a charity of our choice and will be directed towards some of the charity projects linked to our Community Investment Plans (https://www.segro.com/responsible-segro/community-investment-plans) which makes the ride even more meaningful for us.

The remainder of the money raised will be going to Club Peloton (clubpeloton.org) - the charity and real estate cycling community that organises the event and which transforms the lives of young people. Since 2006, it has given £4.5 million in grants to projects that make a real difference, including:

- recruiting families for 1,150 children waiting longer than 18 months to find adoptive homes

- assisting 500 families with post adoption support- awarding 800 bikes, tandems and adapted trikes to children and young people affected by cancer

- supporting research to illustrate the relationship between physical and mental well-being and physical activity in children surviving cancer

- tackling the root causes of violent street crime through 18 amazing projects- assisting the children of 27 families living with a loved one with MSA

The knowledge that any money raised is going to these great causes will make the pain on the climbs worthwhile!
